Flavien Joubert launches new fish and seafood recipe book -- a new tool to promote the Seychelles’ Creole cuisine

A new publication entitled ‘Fish & Seafood recipes of the Seychelles Islands’ has just been released.

The book contains 32 recipes created by Flavien Joubert, a Seychellois personality who has worked for decades in the tourism & hospitality industry. He has received the support of the Seychelles Tourism, which embarked on the project with the aim of increasing its suites of promotional materials, and hopefully give more prominence to the Seychelles cuisine.

The new recipe book, which Mr Joubert has dedicated to his wife and two daughters, was officially launched on Wednesday, December 6, 2017, in a short reception at the Eden Bleu hotel.

Tourism ministry moves to tackle illegal holiday rentals in Seychelles - unlicensed accommodations given three months to comply

The Ministry responsible for tourism has announced measures aimed at addressing the issue of illegal holiday rentals, which is on the increase in Seychelles.

Proprietors of illegal tourism accommodations have three months -- from Tuesday December 12, 2017, to Monday March 12, 2018 -- to regularize their activities.

The Minister for Tourism, Civil Aviation, Ports and Marine, Ambassador Maurice Loustau-Lalanne, announced the decision on Monday, during a Press Conference held at his ministry’s headquarters, at Botanical House, Mont Fleuri.

Seychelles Tourism Board hosts seminar for greater understanding and strengthening of the Chinese market

The Seychelles Tourism Board organised a seminar for a group of top selling agents from China, with the participation of local trade partners -- mainly travel agents and tour operators.

The seminar, initiated by the Seychelles Tourism Board Office in China, with the support of Ethiopian Airlines, was held at the Eden Bleu hotel on Wednesday, December 6, 2017.

The one-day session saw the participation of 15 Chinese agents from Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chengdu, and Taiwan.

Air Seychelles to start new series of charter flights to Chengdu on December 26

Air Seychelles has announced that it will be starting a new series of weekly charter flights between China and Seychelles in December, 2017.

The national airline will operate 13 return flights between the city of Chengdu in Southwest China and the Seychelles’ main island Mahé, from December 26, 2017 to March 20, 2018.

Chengdu -- the capital of China’s Sichuan province -- with a population of over 14 million people, is one of the main emerging outbound tourism cities.
