More trade partners join the 2017 GCC roadshow further positioning Seychelles in the Middle East

Further improving knowledge of the Seychelles’ products in the Middle East region, allowing the trade to strengthen relations with existing partners, as well as discover new products and partners -- such was the outcome of the 2017 Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) roadshow, organised by the Seychelles Tourism Board (STB).

Spearheaded by the STB Dubai office, the roadshow held from October 8 to 11, targeted the United Arab Emirates’ cities of Dubai and Abu Dhabi, as well as two other Gulf countries -- Bahrain and Kuwait.

Hotels rooms of abandoned hotels and stalled projects to be reallocated, says Seychelles’ Tourism Minister

The Tourism Ministry will be reallocating some 800 rooms belonging to old, abandoned hotels in Seychelles but currently counted as part of the existing hotel room quota.

Another 1,300 rooms could also become available for reallocation should developers of eight already approved projects decide not to go ahead with the hotel developments. The eight projects are among 18 hotel developments not included in a moratorium on large hotel projects in excess of 25 rooms.

New Fire and Ice - Bar & Lounge adds to the Seychelles’ nightlife experience

The Chief Executive of the Seychelles Tourism Board, Sherin Francis, has described the opening of the new Fire and Ice - Bar & Lounge at Eden Island, as an added choice of entertainment venue for the new generation of travellers.

Replacing the former Carambole, Fire & Ice is owned by Marsha Parcou and partner Kirschlee Naidoo, also the owners of the popular Chatterbox Café located at Eden Island.

Seychelles attends the 54th TTG Incontri fair; targets increased visibility and further growing the Italian market

Seychelles participated in the 2017 TTG Incontri, which is considered to be Italy’s main international trade fair dedicated to tourism.

The 54th Edition of TTG Incontri was held in Rimini -- a popular Italian seaside holiday destination -- from October 12 to 14, 2017.

Seychelles Tourism Board adopts new format for roadshow across three Indian cities supplying the most visitors to the islands

The Seychelles Tourism Board (STB) office in India organised a three-city roadshow in Delhi, Ahmedabad, and Mumbai from September 18 to 22, 2017.

Delhi, Ahmedabad, and Mumbai send some of the highest numbers of visitors to Seychelles each year. The three cities are also home to travel trade partners that facilitate travel for most holidaymakers from the northern and western parts of India.
